Allah and Elohim - Are they the same God? Part 14

Word of God is Pure, Perfect, Settled in Heaven forever

As we saw last week that Jesus is called "Word of God".  Today we will see what are the qualities of "Word of God"?

Word of God is pure:

The Bible says in Psalms 119:140, "Your word is very pure; Therefore Your servant loves it."
And also in Proverbs 30:5, "Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him."

Purity is the quality of God.  God is holy so is His word which is pure and holy.  There is no one who can claim that he/she is holy or pure but only God is absolutely holy.  And not only the Bible but Quran also tells us that Jesus is holy as we read in Quran,

Mary
Sura 19:19 He said: "Nay, I am only a messenger from thy Lord, (to announce) to thee the gift of a holy son.

The Bible says in Hebrew 4:15  For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Yes, Jesus went through all the temptations and faced sin but came out victorious.  It could not defile Him nor could sin corrupt His holiness.  And He is able to forgive our sins and give us holy life.  That is the reason why David says in Psalms 119:9, "How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word."  Also in Psalms 119:11, "Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!"

His Word is not only pure but gives us purity in our lives.  But contrary to it, Quran does not claim whether Quranic verses cleanse our lives.  But whenever you ask a Muslim about their sins, they simply say that we can not achieve a holy life and that on the Day of Judgement, Allah will give reward according to their works.  But no, you can achieve a holy life in this world itself.  You can live a holy life by the power of the shed blood of Jesus who took all our sins on Himself and died on our behalf.  And the Bible says in 1 John 1:7, "and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin."

Word of God is perfect:

Psalms 19:7-8, "The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;"  The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes;

Word of God is also known as law of the LORD and is perfect which means that there is no defect or fault in it.  And the Bible tells us that Jesus is perfect without blame without any sin. Quran also says that Jesus is pure then it also declares that He is faultless or without any defect.  And the perfect quality of Jesus (Word of God) makes Him God.  But contrary to it Quran does not say that Quranic verses or Allah's word is perfect but the Quran says that religion of Islam is perfect as we read in -

Al-Ma'idah (The Table Spread)

Sura 5:3 ....This day have those who reject faith given up all hope of your religion: yet fear them not but fear Me. This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion....

But we all know that Islam is not a perfect religion.  Not only Islam but no religion is perfect because religion and religious rituals can not give us forgiveness of sin.  Religious rituals can not pull us out of our sinful nature.  Religion can not give us peace, joy and happiness and eternal life but only God who is perfect.  Only God who is perfect can forgive our sins and pull us out of our sins and sinful nature.  That is the reason why Jesus says in John 8:36  "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed."

Word of God is settled in heaven forever:

Psalms 119:89, "Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven."

This verse shows the immutability of God's Word that it shall stand forever or that there is no change in His word.  His Word is unchangeable, undefiled, pure and stands forever. The above verse also says that God's Word is not variable.  It can not change but it has to be just as it is written or revealed in the beginning.  For example if God gave Ten Commandments and proclaimed you should not do this and this then we should not.  These commandments are not changing at all.  Jesus also said in Matthew 5:18, "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled."

But when we come to the Quran we see different set of laws.  For example the Bible tells us in Exodus 20:13   "You shall not murder."  But Quran says that you can kill those who stand again Allah as we read in -

Al-Ma'idah (The Table Spread)

Sura 5:33 The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter;

And the Bible tells us in
Exodus 20:14  "You shall not commit adultery." But when we come to the Quran, Allah says in -

Al-Baqara (The Cow)

Sura 2:230 So if a husband divorces his wife (irrevocably), He cannot, after that, re-marry her until after she has married another husband and He has divorced her. In that case there is no blame on either of them if they re-unite, provided they feel that they can keep the limits ordained by Allah. Such are the limits ordained by Allah, which He makes plain to those who understand.

Does not it say to commit adultery?  Can Holy God give this type of command to anybody? And the Bible says in
Jeremiah 3:1, "They say, 'If a man divorces his wife, And she goes from him And becomes another man's, May he return to her again?' Would not that land be greatly polluted?"

If the commandments of God and His Law are changing in Quran which means that Allah is not the God of the Bible nor his message the message of the Bible. So he can not be the same God whom Abraham, Isaac and Jacob worshipped.  And if Allah is not the same God of the Bible then Muslims are breaking the very first commandment of God by taking a new god called Allah in the place of Al-Mighty God.
