Hebrew 9:27, "And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment."

"Day of Judgment" this is the term that is not only important for Christians but also for Muslims. I was in some Muslim message board and I realized that Muslims are awaiting eagerly for this day. I was told that, they are not sure whether they would be in hell or heaven. They are in between fear and hope that on the Day of Judgment everything may go well. When I heard that, it broke my heart. I asked, "what if, if you die today?" Some said, "we would be in grave until the Day of Judgment, there is no heaven or hell until the Day of Judgment." But the Bible tells us a totally different story about the Day of Judgment.

What is the Day of Judgment:
1. It is a Day of Judgment and sentence - a day when people whose sins are not forgiven will go before the almighty God, King of kings and Lord of lords to get their verdict. They are those who rejected Jesus as the Son of God - those who never accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. On that day they will be condemned. Bible says in Joel 3:14, "Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. The "multitudes in the valley of decision" are sometimes seen as the innumerable host deciding whether to cast their lot with the God of Israel and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, or with Satan and the enemies of Israel. Joel does repeat the plural "multitudes" here and thereby emphasizes the fact that the number is exceedingly large. Thus the Valley of Jehoshaphat ("Yahweh judges") receives one more symbolic name: "the valley of decision" (or of "verdict"). So this is a day of judgment and sentence. These "multitudes" are awaiting their condemnation, whether they realize it or not.

2. It is a day of terror - Yes, it is not a day of rejoicing, but it is a day of terror and anger of God. Bible says in Amos 5:18-20, "Woe to you who desire the day of the LORD! For what good is the day of the LORD to you? It will be darkness, and not light. It will be as though a man fled from a lion, And a bear met him! Or as though he went into the house, Leaned his hand on the wall, And a serpent bit him! Is not the day of the LORD darkness, and not light? Is it not very dark, with no brightness in it?"

3. It is a day of destruction - We read in the Bible Isaiah 13:6-8, "Wail, for the day of the LORD is at hand! It will come as destruction from the Almighty. Therefore all hands will be limp, Every man's heart will melt, And they will be afraid. Pangs and sorrows will take hold of them; They will be in pain as a woman in childbirth; They will be amazed at one another; Their faces will be like flames."

4. This day is reserved for the wicked - as we read in Job 21:30, "For the wicked are reserved for the day of doom; they shall be brought out on the day of wrath."

Yes, the Day of Judgment is not a good day. Why should we wait for this day, for our own destruction or for verdict or for sentence or to experience the wrath of God almighty on us? No, my friend, no man can dare to face the almighty God with all their sins, with all their filthiness, with their sinful nature. But because of His great mercy and because of His great love, He made a way for us so that we need never to go before the judgment seat of God or to face the Day of Judgment. Jesus came down to this world and shed His precious blood so that we may never face this day. Jesus said in John 5:24, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

Yes, if you have not yet passed from death into life, if you do not have the assurance of eternal life or everlasting life, then come to Jesus and accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior.

The Bible also says in Joel 2:12-13, "Now, therefore," says the LORD, "Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning. So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the LORD your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm."

Oh, yes, before that day of terror comes, turn to God. Repent from your sins allow God to work in your life. If you do that you will never be in between of fear and hope, but you will get the assurance of heaven(eternal life) and also assurance that you have passed from death into life and the Day of Judgment is not for you.
